Camp is fun! That’s our philosophy. That’s our mission. Camp Tall Timbers has been serving up a fun and rewarding camp experience since 1970 so we know what works. We see every camper as a unique individual with limitless potential to be nurtured, challenged and developed.
The Camp Tall Timbers mission for each Camper:
Improve and develop social and interpersonal skills
Promote campers’ self-esteem
Help campers appreciate nature’s wonders
Allow campers to experience working and living as a team
Give campers an environment to expand their independence
Provide the opportunity for campers to set goals, learn new skills and challenge themselves
How will we do this?
Campers will make one new friend a day
Announcements are made at every meal time to highlight camper accomplishments
Golden Feathers for each activity are awarded to those campers who showed particular effort, improvement or skill throughout the session
Campers will attend at least one Camp Fire and camp out at least once a session - ‘Survivor/Cabin Night’
Each camper will live in either a cabin or tent with other peers and counselors where they will be required to undertake the responsibilities of keeping the area clean and making group decisions
Campers will, on the second day of camp, decide upon their very own schedule and which classes they would like to take and when
Campers are encouraged to learn at least one new skill whilst at camp
